Our History
The Charlton Abbott
in Downtown Willoughby's
Historic District
Built in 1858, this Victorian home has been through many transformations. Once a trading post and business offices, The Charlton Abbott is now offering state-of-the-art cowork spaces, private offices, conference rooms, and special events! We aspire to unite the community in our historical gathering spaces and provide distraction-free work areas.
Paul Abbott, arrived in the Western Reserve area in 1797, exploring the area and found "The Charlton," which was a trading post at the time. Mr. Abbott became the first resident of the city Charlton, and what we now know as Willoughby. The barn on the property remains behind the house and has been left as it was when built over 100 years ago, the oldest barn in Willoughby!
